Recent Purchases

EVOO 17oz for $5.00-  I needed a carrier oil to make my sulfur oil mix, so I purchased some Extra Virgin Olive Oil. My goal is to keep my scalp itch free and to possibly get some extra growth.
I would like to finish up my sulfur by the time I BC, so this is the perfect time to use it.

100% Raw Shea-butter-1lb for $7.99- I ran out of Shea-butter so I needed to restock. I primarily use this for when I twist my hair and also on my body. This is a staple in my regimen.

Lavender Jamaican Black Castor Oil, 4oz for $7.30- I would like to thicken up my edges although I feel like they are destined to be the way they are. They aren't bad or really thin, but they aren't extra thick either.
Anyway..JBCO has been recommended by many and I finally decided to give it a try. I purchased the lavender kind because I heard the main issue was JBCO's scent.
One thing I can tell you..even with Lavender, it smells horrible. I plan to use this at least 5 days a week at night only.

  1. How does the sulfur smell? Is it odorless?

    1. I don't really notice a smell. It could be that I'm used to it. When I get home, I'll sniff the bottle and let you know.

    2. Let me know if it smells after you apply it.

    3. The sulfur itself has a slight odor. Not sure how to describe it, but it isn't too intrusive.
As for my sulfur oil mix, because I add essential oils, I only smell those after applying.

  2. I've used the original black castor oil for my edges and I think I'm noticing a difference. Either way, I guess there's no harm in trying. Take care. Nice blog

  3. Hi Ms. D - I feel you on the edges. I study mine on a daily basis because this it the one problem area that I've never been successful with fixing, even pre-hair journey. I've always had thin edges, but I think they were made worse by getting tight micro braids on my edges when I was younger. I've used JBCO, Vitamin E, etc. and no results. I think they're just going to be what they're going to be. HHG!

    1. Hey FEG!
That stinks. Hopefully you will get the results you would like. I haven't massaged my edges like I should. I think I will try that when I apply the JBCO. I'm sure you have tried that, but maybe you can do more of that?
      Good luck! HHG :-)
