Hey Everyone!!! Hope all of you are doing well!
I am back from my trip and wanted to briefly share my experience with you.As most of you know, I am Haitian. Well, my parents were born in Haiti, but I was born in America so I guess you can say I am Haitian American.
I have never been to Haiti before this, but knew deep in my heart that when I did go my main purpose was to serve God by helping my brothers and sisters in any way I could.
A few months ago there was a voice in my head telling me it was time to do this mission trip. That voice was God. Within 1 week, I contacted the mission organization, booked my flight and paid for the trip. I was determined and so excited.
The mission trip primarily took place in Titanyen and Minotre, Haiti. I was either painting houses for those displaced from the earthquake, assisting at Vacation Bible School, putting together school curriculum called "Mwen Kapab(I CAN)" and visiting nearby villages while praying for the families and spreading the word of God.
I went by myself, but met some other GREAT people that either went in groups or went individually like me.
I was blessed with the BEST roommate a person could ask for. I am so thankful for that.
Haiti is such a beautiful country although I only saw a small portion of it.
Everyone was so NICE and welcoming. I honestly felt at home.I pray that God watches over every single person that I came in contact with and those that I didn't. I pray for their health, safety, future, happiness and most importantly that they trust in the Lord.
I had an incredibly experience that I will never forget. I am so grateful for everything that I have and will try not to take it for granted. But one thing I will tell y'all is that my work as a servant of God isn't over. I have plans!
I could write for days about this, but because I don't feel like this blog is the platform for me to do, I will end with some photos.
God Bless!
At Minotre- LOVE these boys. I miss them already |
