4 Ways I Keep My Hair Strong

Besides the normal low manipulation, no heat routine I'm on, the below products help keep my hair strong.

1.) Henna

I do Henna(and Indigo) Treatments quarterly. This has been a staple in my regimen for almost 2 years now.
I typically mix the henna with an egg, black tea and coconut oil, which all have strengthening properties yet my hair still comes out soft AND strong afterwards.
I have many posts on Henna, so if you would like to read more, click here.

2.) Deep Conditioning with ORS Replenishing Conditioner

I only deep condition once a month now and use ORS Replenishing Conditioner.
I have praised this deep conditioner time and time again. It's a combo of moisture and protein, so it's definitely not a full blast protein treatment. It works well for my hair and keeps it nice and strong.

3.) Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has been proven to penetrate the hair shaft which in turn keeps it strong. It's also found to reduce protein loss in hair.
I use coconut oil in my shea-butter mix which I use when twisting my hair. But I also use it to seal my hair after spritzing it with my AVJ spritz daily.

4.) Silk Amino Acids

I purchased SAA last February to mix in my relaxers. When I decided to stop relaxing I started mixing a drop or 2 in my Shea-butter mix or AVJ spritz when I feel like my hair needs extra protein.
I blogged about it here

**Bonus- ALOE VERA JUICE

Yes, Aloe Vera contains collagen protein.
I plan on researching more and doing a blog post on this...but check out this link for a thread on it.
I use my AVJ spritz daily.

  1. Olive oil is great for the scalp! My husband and I have used it before, he cooks with it all the time. Very healthy, especially the black tea, tea is very beneficial in so many ways, must be why I drink it all the time! :)
