Review: Taliah Waajid- The Great Detangler

As you all know, I purchased this product about 2 weeks ago. Since then, I have used it on my twists, to detangle when I took them out and on my loose hair.

It honestly doesn't take me a while to figure out if I like a product or not, so I decided to come on here and give you all my opinion on it.

If you're interested in The Great Detangler then keep on reading.

What they Say
The Great Detangler Eliminates tangles on contact. Softens
hair, defines curl pattern. Stops breakage while combing
curly, kinky, coily and wavy hair. Hair Detangler is rich
with moisturizers, protein and conditioners.  Coats and
protects hair while softening.  For best results, use the
complete line of Black Earth Products.

Ingredients:
deoinized water (aqua), vitamin E, olive oil, PEG-75, Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii), Silk protein, Cocoa Butter oil extract Cetrimoniun Bromide, Cetheareth-20, Vegetable Glycerin, Mineral Oil, Glycerol, D&C yellow #5, Fragrance (Parfum) DMHM Hydantion, Detanglers, Balsam, Aloe Vera

What Ms. D Says:
On my twists, this product worked very well. Kept them moisturized all day with out having a greasy feel. It's kind of runny, so I had to use more product than I normally do. For detangling, in small sections, it worked GREAT. I had a lot of slip and my comb was able to glide through my hair easily. I, of course, lightly finger detangled before combing though. It did exactly what it said it would. Now after washing and detangling with this product, I did not apply anything else to my hair. I treated this as a leave-in and wanted to see if I needed to add any product afterwards. Well, my hair dried up horribly about 2-3 hours later. So, I added some more to my hair and on the next day. Both times, my hair was dry a few hours later.
So, if you are to use The Great Detangler, I suggest using it as only a detangler and not as a moisturizer. Well unless you wear twists a lot.

As for the ingredients- I don't like the fact that it has mineral oil Frangance(which isn't that great) and other things I don't know much about  in it.  Also, wth is Detanglers? They may be trying say the Balsam and Aloe Vera are the detanglers?

Would I purchase again
No. My Glycerin, water, oil and aloe mix work just as well.

  1. Thanks for the review. I don't know why I'm having such a hard time finding a leave in/ detangler to call a staple.

    1. You're welcome! What are you currently using or what have you used in the past?

  2. I am currently using Beautiful Textures Tangle Taming Leave In, I've only used it once since wigging. I have Aveeno Nourish + Condition leave in spray(purchased years ago during my pjism, this one bottle is abundant, I can't seem to use it up fast enough), no effects except that it wets my hair. I use it with braidouts and styling my daughter hair instead of water because to my hair that's all it is. I have used NTM Silk Touch in the past. I believe I liked it again due to using up my stock it has been forever since I've used it.

    1. I heard good things about Beautiful Textures. I used Aveeno Nourish + Condition in the past and it didn't do much for my hair. Mane n tail Detangler(not sure if that's the name) worked well for me. But while transitioning, Water mixed with Aloe Vera Juice, glycerin and Safflower Oil worked best.
