"Average" Hair Growth

They say on average, hair grows a half inch a month.
Well, I don't get the average growth.
I measured my hair out of curiosity and all around, my hair is about 8 inches. I have been relaxer free for almost 18 months, so I am about 1 inch below the average growth.
And you know what? That's okay with me. I have very healthy hair care practices and take care of myself. At this point, there's nothing else I can or want to do to increase my growth rate.

But if your hair is not growing the "average" rate and would like to see an improvement....here are some tips.

1.) Be sure to keep up with your yearly Physicals- There are numerous health issues that can affect your hair growth. If you think something is wrong, speak up and get checked out!
2.) Drink plenty of water
3.) Work out regularly
4.) Do scalp massages (Use oils that stimulate growth)
5.) Keep your scalp clean
6.) Maintain a healthy diet (protein, fruits, veggies, etc)
7.) Take a Multi-Vitamin daily
8.) Stay stress free! So stop obsessing over hair growth!

Remember, growth and retention are two very different things. I have retained pretty much all of my growth in the last 18 months(unless I had crazy breakage in the last 2 months which I doubt).
If your hair is growing, but breaking at the same time...that's another issue I will touch on in a separate post.
