13 Months Post Relaxer- Minor Breakage

Hey Everyone!! Hope you had a great weekend!
I just wanted to give you a brief update on my transition. Do you see those thin relaxed ends? Well that's where the breakage lies. About five of my twists look like that in the front/center of my hair. It's not too much to worry me, but enough for me to start monitoring my hair more. I did a henna treatment this weekend which immediately strengthened my hair, so now I'll just focus on keeping it moisturized. My hair will be in twists for the next 2-3 weeks, so I won't be manipulating it too much. For the most part, my hair is doing really well.. So that little section of breakage isn't discouraging me at all!
Let the transition continue!

  2. Your growth has been great! You have actually inspired me to commit to protective styling, the results of your consistent PS makes me feel really hopeful about the possibilities for my hair. I am almost 9 months into my transition and its very helpful to be able to witness your experiences month by month. Thank you and keep up the great work!

  3. You are doing so well with this transition! Definitely one of the few ladies I've seen be able to keep the breakage at bay for so long--especially with type 4 hair! Keep it up, chica!

  4. Your hair looks great! I'm glad you caught the breakage early, that's always a good thing. I also love your attitude about it-- just assess and move on. My hair has recently been giving me some trouble, my ends look a little thin, I think I will just keep it protected, balanced and clip off an inch next time I relax.

  5. Congrats on your transition! My last relaxer was Sept. 30, 2011 (64.3 weeks), this Friday will make it 65 weeks post. I go to get my BC this Friday, I have enough new growth to go into the new year and start my full natural journey. My hair was weaved up since August 2012 until just last week (with 3 installations and washes every two weeks)..So excited...Happy Journey :)
