Products I Love

Hey Hey Hey!

I just wanted to come on here and share with you a few products that  I love. These are my staples and I will probably never switch them out…well unless they become discontinued or the formula changes. The main reasons why I love these are because they’re affordable, works well for my hair and can be purchased in a local store.

1.)     Shea Moisture Organic Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Shampoo for Thick, Curly Hair- I have been using this shampoo since I big chopped and must say that I love it. It leaves my hair feeling very soft after washing and I sometimes I feel like I don’t even need to condition it afterwards, but I do just in case. It also cleans my scalp very well although I do dilute it with water since I wash in braids. I’ve tried the other shampoo in this line, the Shea-butter one (I believe), but this seems to work better for my hair.

2.)    ORS Replenishing Conditioner- This has been a staple since my relaxed days and it also works well on my natural hair. Because my hair does not need much protein, I only use this about once a quarter. I must say that it does leave my hair feeling stronger, but unfortunately not as soft as it did when it was relaxed. But I do still like it and don’t think my bottle will finish anytime soon…so it will remain in my product collection for a while.

3.)    Aubrey Organics White Camellia Ultra Soothing Conditioner- This conditioner is the business! It leaves my hair feeling sooooo soft! I love it dearly although I probably only use it once a month due to my regimen. When I wear my hair loose more often, I will def be using this about twice a month.

4.)    African Pride Olive Miracle Braid Sheen Spray- I have been using this braid spray for YEARS. This is the only store bought spray I will use on my hair. I love the smell, ingredients and price. Since I may do the Crown and Glory method for the remainder of the year, I will be fully stocked on this.

I am at that point in my hair journey where I am sticking to what works well for me. I am aware that no product will give me magical growth, but they will actually aid in my length retention.
All of these products either keep scalp clean, hair soft or strong and work well for me. So..I’m sticking to them.

What are your favorite products?

  1. Haven't used any of these. I'm most interested in the Shea Moisture Shampoo. Heard a lot about their products. Do you like the rest of their line?

    1. I've only used a few other products in their line and thought they were just okay. I have heard great things about the curl enhancing smoothie though and may try it in the future for twist outs.

  2. OMGosh! The smell of the Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus line is heavenly. I haven't tired the shampoo, but I use the Curl Enhancing Smoothie for my bantu knot sets.

  3. Some of my faves right now:

I've tried the Shea Moisture Moisture Retention shampoo, i give it high marks. I also love my trader joes nourish spa balanced moisturizing shampoo, these were the only products that worked for me during my transition so there is some loyalty them, and haven't decided which is going to stick around after i finish the last of my trader joes. I can't say how much i love them.

Aubrey Organics honey suckle rose, and Aubrey Organics GPB conditioner....these two are just great products.

Mane n Tail detangler....i use it before i prepoo and do the whole wash day process, usually because my i don't comb my hair.

Design Essentials Stimulations Super Moisturizing Conditioner,....this one was right up under my nose, and yet stuck up on me. I've only been using it the last month or so. My sis has locs and bought this in a huge container for herself. It has a peppermint smell, and it tingles, and it is oh so moisturizing.

  4. The curl enhancing smoothie gives great twist out, flat twist out, and two strand twist, but it wasn't very moisturizing for my hair. i havent tried it since i've been completely naturally, but during my transition it was very drying for my hair. And my hair is the type of hair that needs moisture, so i've been hesitant to use it.
