Hair Update

Hey Y'all!!! How are you? Hope everyone is doing wonderful!
I know, it's been a lonngggg time. I think this is the longest I've been away and I hope to never go that long again.
Anyway, just wanted to come by and give a brief update on my hair.
There hasn't been any changes in my regimen. It's been pretty consistent. I am using Shea-butter a lot more now though. I'm pretty much over commercial hair products and Shea-butter has been working perfectly fine for me for all these years. I wash/deep condition weekly and still only finger detangle.

I wore my hair in twists(large and small) for about a month.  I will never do small(not quite mini) twists again. They took 5 hours to install and like 2 to remove.

I wore my hair in the signature puff amongst other puff styles.

I just tried to switch it up a little.

How's your hair doing? Any changes for the Winter?

Moisture is my BFF this Winter.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

  1. Totally missed you and your gorgeous hair! Do you have any tips for girls who want to commit to the finger detangling only lifestyle?

    1. Aww thank you!!! *blush*
My number one tip is to be patient because finger detangling does take time. I always detangle on well moisturized hair. So usually after applying my dc and/or when I am about to set my hair after washing. I always finger detangle in medium sections and make sure to remove every piece of shed hair. And at first I would use a comb every other week, then once a month, and now barely ever. It's best to work your way up. Hth!

  2. Cute hairstyles! I am protective styling with a wig this winter. Nothing too exciting. Just going to focus on discovering my protein/moisture balance.

    1. Thank you, Kristal!
Wigs can be pretty exciting especially since you can easily change a style without manipulating your hair too much. Good choice! I wish you much luck on discovering your p/m balance. I'm sure you will get it in no time!

    1. Thank you and Happy New Year!! Hey if isn't broke, don't fix it. I am too. It's been tough finding some inexpensive indigo, but I hope to order some soon.

  5. Hi! I bought the same exact color Playful Plum Hennafemme Reshma hair dye and searched it up on google to see what the results would have turned out. As I was searching through, I couldn't find any reviews or ending results on this particular color. I saw your post and wondering how it turned out from a while ago. How did it turn out(: ?

    1. Hello! I thought I updated that post because I had the same issue with finding reviews.
It basically made my hair jet black. It has some indigo in it, so it makes sense. My hair was already black(very dark) though. If you have lighter hair there may be a possibility of it making your hair plum.
