3 Month Puff Comparison

Hey Hey Hey!!! I hope you all are having a fabulous week!

Back when I was relaxed, I would do comparison pics every 3-6 months to see if I made any progress. I still suggest that to anyone who thinks their hair isn't growing. 

Anyway, I wanted to do a brief puff comparison since that is my signature style.

Twist Out

Hey Loves! 

I took my twists out so I can enjoy my hair for the weekend. 

I wanted to come on here real quick to show y'all how my hair looked like afterwards. 

TWA Love

One of the most liberating/freeing things for a woman to do is cut off all her hair.

Society makes us feel like our beauty is attached to the length of our hair. I personally feel like that's B.S. Beauty comes from within  and once you feel good about yourself and exude self confidence....that's when you are truly beautiful. 

I may sound hypocritical  because I chose to long term transition rather than do a big chop, but have y'all seen my shrinkage? LOL. Shoot, I might as well have a twa.  

I realized in my last post that I was kind of complaining about having shorter hair. Those thoughts have long left my mind because I need to embrace and love what I currently have. 

Anyway, the point of this post is to highlight the beauty of short hair/twa's. If you follow me on Tumblr, you would know that I not only post BAA's, but I consistently post TWA's as well. 

So for all of the ladies that have recently big chopped and are actively trying to grow out your hair...enjoy the convenience of your TWA. I'm sure you will miss it WHEN your hair grows out. 

And if you're feeling self conscious:

Put on some earrings

Put on a little make-up

Make sure your eyebrows are on point 

and wear something that makes you feel good

As I have stated many times, to emphasize my hair practices, I wear a protective style during the week(sometimes for two). 

More Random Hair Thoughts

• I did my sister's(on the left) hair in twists again. This time it only took me 4 hours. For those that have been following me for a while, you know that I have done her hair in twists a few times now. The first time, it took me 12 hours..second time was 8...third was 6 and now I am down to 4.

No Combing in 2 Months?!

I have a confession to make. 

If you read the post title then you already know what it is. 

I haven't combed my hair in 2 months.

 Yes, 2 months. Crazy as it sounds.

I don't know why, but I have only been finger detangling. 

So tonight I decided to finally detangle my hair. Boy was I scared. I just knew it would either take forever or I would lose boatloads of hair. 

Single Strand Knots

I know you all have either heard of or experienced them throughout this hair journey.

Those were one of my biggest fears about being fully natural, but to my pleasant surprise, I have not seen/felt/found not one single strand knot in my hair.

I believe it has a lot to do with my hair care practices and because of my thick/coarse strands. But mostly because of my hair care practices which I will highlight in this post.

So, what is a SSK? It’s basically what the above picture illustrates. When a strand of hair tangles within itself forming a knot in the hair. Us kinky, curly, coily girls are very prone to them. There are some ways you can avoid them, but for some, they can be inevitable. I do not believe  SSK’s can make or break your hair’s health and length goals. But having a BUNCH of them can cause some issues.

Here are some tips to minimize them.
