Twists Update- Week 1

I decided to document my Crown and Glory journey.
I will update my blog weekly, probably every Monday, just so I can see what works and doesn’t work for future styles.

So, I had these twists in for a week on Saturday.
I have been wearing them down every day because I do not want to cause any tension on my edges by wearing ponytails, buns or any updos.
Because these are still relatively new, they’re still a little tight.

After I was done twisting my hair, I sprayed it with ACV mixed with water as a preventive measure to avoid the itchies. My hair still itched the day after, so I sprayed it a little more with the ACV/Water Mix and now I’m fine.

Fake It Until I Make It

I love my hair, I really do. I love wearing it in a puff or out in an Afro. But during the week, when I wear my protective styles, I don’t LOVE my hair. I just like it.
I don’t feel as beautiful as I do when I wear my hair out or in Box braids and Marley twists. I just know if my hair was a little longer, I would.  With that said, I’m going to fake it until I make it.
In previous posts, I stated that I would be doing the Crown and Glory method for the remainder of the year. That is still in effect depending on how my hair line holds up. I am also going to carry that well into next year.

Protective Style- Marley Twists

Hey Hey Hey!!!
Happy Sunday!

I decided to install some twists in my hair yesterday. I started doing braids with Marley Hair, but they looked rather thin regardless of how much hair I used, so I opted for twists.
This took me about 8-9 hours to do because the amount of detangling I had to do with my natural hair.
I don't comb my hair, but I comb it before putting in a long term protective style.
I plan to keep these in for 6-8 weeks and will follow the same regimen I typically do with braids. I will also probably curl the ends at one point.
I'm hoping these will look better and better with age.

2 Weeks of Hair

Hey Hey Hey!
Hope you all are doing well.
I just wanted to take y'all through my hair journey for two weeks.
I'm going to show y'all the good, bad and straight ugly.
You have been warned.

So, my hair is typically twisted for 1 or 2 weeks. This time it was twisted for a little less than 2. I installed the twists on a Monday and took them out the following Thursday.

6 Months Post BC Length Check and Comparison

Hey hey hey! Hope everyone is doing well. I apologize for my unannounced hiatus, but I just haven't been in the blogging mood.
I just wanted to come on here real quick to document my hair progress thus far.

I am a little over 22 months post relaxer and 6 months post big chop.

These length check photos were taken in March 13, 2013(the left) and September 8, 2013.
